Frequently asked questions.
How is this different from a ketamine clinic?
At a clinic you typically pay $500–$3,000 per session and sit in a medical chair. With ojava mind, a licensed clinician prescribes the same compounded ketamine and you take it at home. Research suggests at-home settings produce comparable outcomes — and for many patients, the comfort of home is actually an advantage.
Will I have a psychedelic experience?
Not in the traditional sense. At therapeutic doses the experience is dissociative — dreamlike and introspective — but not hallucinatory. Most patients describe it as calm and surprisingly gentle.
Is someone with me during the session?
Your clinician isn't present during the session — this is self-administered at-home treatment. We recommend having a trusted person at home, especially for your first session, but there's no clinical supervision during administration.
Do I need a formal diagnosis?
No. Your clinician evaluates you based on what you're experiencing. You don't need a prior diagnosis to be a candidate.
What about my current medications?
Most medications are compatible with ketamine therapy. Your clinician reviews everything before prescribing. Some combinations require adjustment, and your clinician will tell you if anything you're on is a meaningful concern.
What if I'm going through something situational rather than a chronic condition?
Ketamine therapy can be effective for situational depression, acute anxiety, grief, and major life transitions. You don't need to have been struggling for years to benefit. Your clinician will assess whether it's appropriate for your specific situation.
What if I'm not approved?
We'll tell you clearly and won't charge you for the consultation. We'd rather be honest than prescribe something that isn't right for you. If something else would serve you better, your clinician will say so.
Is it covered by insurance?
Not currently. We accept HSA/FSA, and we can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Is this real medical care?
Yes. You consult with a licensed clinician via video, receive a real diagnosis and prescription if appropriate, and have ongoing clinical oversight. This is telehealth — not a wellness app, not a guided retreat, not a coaching program.
